We’re celebrating National Trails day by working outside improving the trails at our Maple Tract  preserve in the Poconos!

Scope of work: Wildlands staff will be on hand to work alongside volunteers to complete hands-on projects like trail building, trail blazing and vegetation management. If you’re a hiker, biker, birder, etc. feel free to bring your bike or binoculars to enjoy the area after work is completed for the day – Maple Tract Preserve is a beautiful glacial wetland landscape to explore!

Location & Meetup point: Volunteers will meet at the WAWA in Blakeslee at the intersection of RT 115 and 940 at 9:00 AM sharp. We will caravan to the Maple Tract Preserve from WAWA.

Tips for the day:

  • Please bring along gloves, loppers, clippers, any snacks you prefer and a water bottle.
  • Wear clothes and bring gardening gear that you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended – the ground is uneven and you will be walking through brush.
  • Lunch will be provided, as well as coffee, water and snacks.
  • Please be aware: there are no facilities on the project site.
