Get out For Wellness: Green Lane Park & Perkiomen Trail @ Green Lane Park
Apr 24 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 am
Get out For Wellness: Green Lane Park & Perkiomen Trail @ Green Lane Park | Green Lane | Pennsylvania | United States

Wear a mask, bring water and snacks. Located in Montgomery County, Green Lane Park covers 3000 acres and three bodies of water. We’ll walk around Deep Creek Lake on the Perkiomen Trail, which uses much of the former railbed of the old Reading RR’s Perkiomen Line. The Perkiomen Trail continues 20 miles SW to the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge (great for biking!). Bald eagles have been seen at Green Lane Reservoir. In winter, there is ice fishing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice skating.

This hike is appropriate for all ages. Half of our hike is stroller- and wheel-chair friendly. The other half is on a narrow woods trail with rocks and roots, and some elevation gain and loss. Dogs on leash are welcome. Wear sturdy walking shoes and dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Bring walking sticks or hiking poles for the woods trail. Three bathrooms are at the parking lot.
