Volunteer Planting Restoration Project

WHO & WHAT:

Volunteers will plant native species along local stream banks.

We’ll work together to plant native trees at our project sites. This project is open to all ages; however, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Shovels, gloves and water will be available. Please wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing and bring any preferred gardening supplies.

WHEN & WHERE:

Friday, October 20, 9:00 am – noon at Saucon Park, Millside Dr, Bethlehem, PA 18015

Monday, October 23, 9:00 am – noon at Millbrook Farms. Parking at the Emmaus Aquatic Club, 2546 Mill Race Rd, Emmaus, PA 18049.

Saturday, October 28, 9:00 am – noon in Emmaus, E Berger Street, Emmaus, PA 18049

*Attend one, or all three plantings!

WHY:

These native plantings will help establish beneficial strips of native plants, trees and grasses – known as riparian buffers. Restoring these stream side buffers will contribute to improved stream health in the Lehigh River, an important resource for recreation and wildlife in our area. Your efforts will directly support regional initiatives taking place at project sites across the Lehigh Valley.
