August 7-11| Secrets of the Forest |Levels: You & Me, Preschool, K-2, 3-5

This week we will explore myths and legends of magical beings that care for the natural world and all its creatures. We’ll build a fairy village in the far reaches of Pool Wildlife Sanctuary and search for a gnomes buried treasure. We’ll find the wonder hidden in water, meadows and forests as we explore trails, ponds and stream. Rumor has it, that under the right conditions, we may even be able to spy a woodland fairy or two. This is for the camper that believes magic can be found in everyday things.

Our planet is a wonder. While we can’t explore the entire Earth in a week, we can dig into the 77.5 acres at Pool Wildlife Sanctuary. Simple everyday habits can have a negative impact on nature and a slight adjustment can wipe out that impact. We’ll get to know the living things that inhabit our corner of the Earth and this week we will meet local ecowarriors who will teach us what people, young and old alike, can do to make our lives and the lives of wildlife better.
