Bike & Boat Trips - Our Most Popular Trip!

Paddle 4 miles down the Lehigh River, then switch to bikes and peddle back along the flat, historical D & L Trail. Bike & Boat trips usually run between Allentown & Bethlehem, however other sections of river and trail can be available upon request. Canoes, paddles, PFD’s, bicycles, and helmets are provided. Safety instructors and naturalists accompany every group. Minimum group size is 10, maximum is 60. Fee is $30/pp.

Canoeing on the Lehigh River

Canoe/Bike TripsWe offer guided canoe trips on the Lehigh River ranging from 4 to 15 miles in length. Different stretches of River make for different trip options from mostly flat water, to gentle riffles, to faster moving water for more advanced paddlers. Our most common trip begins at Canal Park in Allentown, and continues to Freemansburg or Hugh Moore Park in Easton. Canoes, paddles, and PFD’s are provided. Safety instructors and naturalists accompany every group. Minimum group size is 10, maximum is 60. Fee is dependent on trip logistics, generally $30-40/pp.

Lehigh River Navigators

The Navigators Program is a scientific, environmental and historical education program that tours the upper section of the Lehigh River watershed. Focus is on water quality of the Lehigh River and the unique environment of Lehigh Gorge, along with the history of human impact, its physical characteristics and natural resources. Participants have the opportunity complete a 9-23 mile bicycle trip. We provide bicycles and helmets, guides, and access to areas normally closed to the public. Minimum group size is 10, maximum is 60. Fee is dependent on trip logistics, generally $20-25/pp.

River Isand Camping

Canoe/Bike TripsRiver Island Camping is our Bike & Boat excursion from Allentown to Freemansburg that includes an overnight stay on a remote river island.  We provide canoes, paddles, PFD’s, bikes, helmets, tents, as well as a fire cooked dinner and breakfast. Safety instructors and naturalists accompany every group. Trips are approximately 24 hours, usually noon to noon. Minimum group size is 10, maximum is 40. Cost is $80/pp.

Trips can be booked anytime from May to October; weekends fill up fast! If you have a group of less than 10, check out our pre-scheduled Public Bike & Boat Trips that are open to anyone.
